October to March is the best time to visit. Since Gir is a deciduous forest, it has four distinct seasons, and each season looks very unique. Day and nighttime temperatures tend to vary greatly, with mornings and evenings being pleasant throughout the year. Winter temperatures range from 8 to 25 degrees Celsius and summer temperatures range from 18 to 45 degrees Celsius.
Gir is well connected by road, rail and air. The nearest airports are Hirasar International Rajkot (200 km), Diu (98 km) and Keshod (50km). Junagadh and Verawal are the closest railway stations, both are an hour drive away from Maneland.
The safari is best booked through the official Gujarat government website. You can also book through us, or a local agent. Be careful while booking your safari as there are plenty of fake websites offering deals. The safari is unavailable between 15th June and 15th October during the monsoon season because the National Park is closed. But guests can visit Devaliya Park year-round. Devaliya is a smaller forest reserve, and it is open all days of the week except Wednesdays.
We are the first hotel in Gir and have always been very safe for visitors for over thirty years. However, we share a border with the core forest, so it is advised to strictly follow the lodge rules and not go out alone after it gets dark.
We have good Jio network and very limited Vodafone /Airtel network on the premises. We have wifi in the open areas and limited wifi in the rooms.
The earlier the better! Try and book your safari 3-4 months in advance as slots run out quick, especially during holiday/ peak season.
Yes. We can arrange special activities for kids, if told in advance. Maneland hopes to help kids enjoy being device free in nature!
No. Every trip into the jungle is different, and the joy is the surprise of what creature you will encounter. Gir has various mammal, bird, reptile and plant species. Come with an open mind, and you will always be pleasantly surprised as to what unfolds.
